The Cairo
This monolithic, Moorish behemoth rising in the distance is none other than The Cairo,
designed by Thomas Franklin Schneider. First an apartment building following it's inception in 1894, The Cairo saw years of service as a popular socialite destination and hotel during the roaring Twenties, only to fall into disrepair by mid century, dereliction, and then rebirth as a condominium in 1979.
