an eclectic mix of cuisine and clientele...
This building to the left, at 1639 R St NW, is significant to the history of this neighborhood in that it shares the same Moorish theme as The Cairo just a couple blocks away. It once housed a luxurious restaurant and provided food, beverage and entertainment to the well heeled guests of the 
Cairo Hotel...
I did a brief tour of duty as a waiter here at the Dupont Italian Kitchen...
The Cairo Wine and Liquors carries a great selection of imported beers...
Annie's Paramount Steak House, waiter's heaven...
Trio's is the consummate diner, with booths inside and a patio out...

But Trio's Fox & Hounds was my after hours hang-out of choice...
I did a tour as a cook at this location, but back when it was Peppers and owned by John Colameco...
